Dispatch Supervisor (Day Shift) – Roodepoort

Our client, Foodservice Equipment Supplier, is looking for a Dispatch Supervisor (Day Shift) to join their Johannesburg team. PURPOSE OF THE ROLE Our reputable foodservice equipment client is seeking a customer-focused, energetic and detail-oriented Dispatch Supervisor to oversee its outbound day shift operations. The successful candidate will ensure accurate and timely distribution of products, supervise picking, packing and dispatch activities, and maintain operational standards while minimising errors, inefficiencies and stock losses. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Qualifications * Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent. - Relevant Bachelor’s degree, or a combination of a tertiary qualification and relevant work experience. - Supervisory experience, preferably within warehouse operations. - General warehouse and logistics management experience. - Experience using a comprehensive Warehouse Management System (WMS) and working with WMS-driven processes. - Experience in disciplinary hearings, performance management, coaching and mentoring staff. - Valid driver’s licence. - OHSA training. - Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office. - Strong knowledge of administrative systems, procedures and business processes. Advantageous: * SAP and Qwix experience. - Valid First Aid Certificate. - Forklift certification. Duties and Responsibilities: * Assist the Outbound and Day Shift Manager with daily distribution operations. - Schedule, allocate and monitor staff workloads according to operational volumes. - Supervise picking, packing and dispatch for local and national deliveries, third-party couriers, collections, exports, Cash & Carry and Cape Town container shipments. - Ensure orders are picked, packed, invoiced and dispatched accurately and on time. - Check accurate capturing of serial numbers on invoices. - Oversee loading of delivery trucks and courier vehicles according to company procedures and customer instructions. - Assist with daily driver route allocation, route efficiency and delivery follow-ups. - Monitor the performance of drivers, assistants and pick-and-pack staff. - Coordinate stock movement between inbound and outbound departments. - Participate in stocktakes and cycle counts, investigate shrinkage and recommend improvements. - Resolve delivery errors and customer service issues with warehouse teams, Customer Care and Internal Sales. - Coach, train and develop staff, and assist with recruitment and performance management. - Monitor operating costs, including overtime. - Maintain housekeeping, safety, security and compliance with standard operating procedures. - Prepare incident, equipment and employee-related reports. - Ensure clear communication and a smooth handover to the late shift.
