Dispatch & Collections Supervisor (Late Shift)

Our client, Foodservice Equipment Supplier, is looking for a Dispatch & Collections Supervisor (Late Shift) to join their Johannesburg team. PURPOSE OF THE ROLE Our reputable foodservice equipment client is seeking a customer-focused, energetic and detail-oriented Dispatch & Collections Supervisor to oversee its late shift warehouse and distribution operations. The successful candidate will ensure accurate and timely preparation of products for distribution, supervise staff and maintain operational standards while minimising inefficiencies and stock losses. The role includes resolving personnel, organisational and equipment problems during the late shift. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Qualifications * Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent. - Relevant Bachelor’s degree, or a combination of a tertiary qualification and relevant work experience. - Supervisory experience, preferably within warehouse operations. - General warehouse and logistics management experience. - Experience using a comprehensive Warehouse Management System (WMS) and working with WMS-driven processes. - Experience in disciplinary hearings, performance management, coaching and mentoring staff. - Valid driver’s licence. - OHSA training. - Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office. - Strong knowledge of administrative systems, procedures and business processes. Advantageous: * SAP and Qwix experience. - Valid First Aid Certificate. - Forklift certification. Duties and Responsibilities: * Assist the Outbound Manager and Late Shift Manager with late shift distribution operations. - Schedule, allocate and monitor staff workloads and recommend staffing needs according to work volumes. - Supervise picking, packing and preparation of stock, prioritising urgent orders. - Ensure accurate barcode scanning and capturing of serial numbers on invoices. - Inspect goods prepared for dispatch and ensure orders are accurately picked, packed and placed in dispatch bays. - Ensure invoiced stock is safely stored for loading the following day. - Maintain accurate dispatch paperwork, records and operational reports. - Monitor stock movement between inbound and outbound departments. - Participate in stocktakes and cycle counts, investigate shrinkage and recommend improvements to inventory controls. - Supervise forklift drivers, allocate work, check certification validity and coordinate scheduled forklift maintenance. - Coach, train and develop staff, and assist with recruitment, discipline and performance management. - Monitor operating expenses, including overtime. - Respond to customer queries and resolve service issues promptly. - Maintain warehouse housekeeping and monitor the condition of the building and equipment during night work hours. - Identify and address safety hazards, enforce company procedures and protect company assets. - Compile reports on accidents, equipment problems and employee-related matters. - Ensure clear communication and a smooth handover to the day shift.
