Job description
Key Responsibilities:
* Supervise the export team, allocate work and monitor daily targets.
* Process export orders and maintain regular communication with international customers.
* Coordinate with production, stores and other departments to meet delivery deadlines.
* Arrange courier, airfreight and sea-freight shipments.
* Prepare and submit accurate export and shipping documentation.
* Obtain and negotiate freight rates with forwarders and shipping lines.
* Prepare invoices, credits, stock transfers and backflushing transactions.
* Monitor backorders and ensure orders are dispatched accurately and on time.
* Issue quotations, samples and order acknowledgements.
* Coordinate export packaging, pallets and related materials.
* Assist with stock control, stock takes and forecasting.
* Liaise with Quality Control regarding customer complaints and product-related issues.
* Maintain accurate customer pricing and product information on the system.
* Monitor departmental timesheets, attendance and leave.
Minimum Requirements:
* Solid experience in exports, shipping or international logistics.
* Sound understanding of the complete export process, from customer order to final shipment.
* Experience working with freight forwarders, couriers, airfreight and sea freight.
* Good knowledge of export and shipping documentation.
* Previous experience supervising or leading a small operational team.
* Strong international customer communication and administrative skills.
* Good numerical, organisational and problem-solving ability.
* Able to manage multiple orders, priorities and deadlines accurately.
* Comfortable working closely with production, stores, stock control and Quality Control.
* Willing to remain operationally involved and work in the detail.
