Job description

Our Engineering Client is seeking a Procurement Administrator to join their team in Jacobs, Durban. Ideally, looking for someone who is available immediately. Salary: Market-Related (Negotiable) Required Skills and Qualifications Education: - Matric required; a certificate or diploma in business administration or procurement preferred Experience: - Previous experience in procurement, purchasing and administrative roles. - Preferably with a minimum of at least 5 – 10 years or more experience in a similar position. Technical Skills: - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Word and Excel) and preferably Xero. Communication: - Strong verbal and written communication skills for negotiating and liaising with vendors. Organization: - High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. - Able to handle a fast-paced, pressurised environment. Key Responsibilities and Duties Purchasing & Orders: - Create, review, process and track purchase orders (POs) for accuracy. Vendor Management: - Liaise with suppliers to request quotes, negotiate pricing, communicate delivery, lead times, resolve discrepancies and maintain vendor relationships Documentation: - Checking purchase orders match goods received notes, basic invoice queries and discrepancies - Ensure invoices with matching approved purchase orders are timeously forwarded to Creditors for processing for payment. Administration: - Provide general office support, including answering telephones, e-mails, data entry, petty cash, quotes, job costings, filing and various other adhoc tasks. - Assist and liaise with the Contracts & Workshop Manager.
