Minimum Requirements
* 4 - 5+ years' experience in a forklift environment.
* Qualified/Trade Tested Diesel Mechanic, Auto Electrician or Millwright.
* Proven forklift servicing, maintenance and repair experience.
* Experience with electric, diesel and propane/LPG forklifts.
* Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
* Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems and diagnostic equipment.
* Welding, soldering and basic fabrication skills advantageous.
* Good understanding of workplace safety requirements.
* Valid driver's licence.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
* Service and maintain electric, diesel and propane/LPG forklifts in line with manufacturer specifications.
* Inspect and maintain engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems, hydraulics and pneumatics.
* Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults using appropriate diagnostic equipment.
* Repair, rebuild or replace components including transmissions, motors, steering and hydraulic systems.
* Carry out welding, soldering and basic fabrication where required.
* Test repaired equipment to ensure safe and correct operation.
* Identify and order replacement parts and assist with workshop stock control.
* Maintain accurate maintenance logs, repair records and service histories.
* Report additional faults, repair requirements and safety concerns.
* Maintain a clean, organised and safe work area.
* Ensure all work meets required safety, quality and manufacturer standards.
