Job description

Key Responsibilities * Take overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of the water treatment plant. * Lead, manage and support the plant operations team. * Coordinate and oversee plant maintenance activities. * Manage stock levels, chemical requirements and chemical ordering. * Coordinate supplier deliveries and related site requirements. * Manage invoices, operational expenditure and site costs. * Apply sound technical knowledge of water treatment processes, including Reverse Osmosis and membrane technology, to plant operations. * Monitor plant performance and identify opportunities for improved efficiency and operational performance. * Prepare comprehensive operational and performance reports. * Manage contractual obligations and ensure compliance with agreed contractual terms. * Manage and maintain site Health & Safety standards and requirements. * Ensure compliance with applicable operational processes, regulations and safety standards. * Manage budgets, resources and operational planning. * Maintain strong professional relationships with the client and relevant stakeholders. * Ensure effective management of a plant operating on a 24/7 basis. Minimum Requirements * Engineering Degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Civil Engineering; OR * Postgraduate qualification in Environmental Science. * Minimum 7 years' experience in water treatment operations. * At least 3 years' management experience. * Proven experience managing a 24/7 water treatment operation. * Strong knowledge of water treatment processes, regulations and safety standards. * Sound technical understanding of Reverse Osmosis and membrane technology. * Proven experience in contract management. * Proven experience in financial and cost management. * Strong understanding of management principles, including: + Planning + Budgeting + Resource management * Own reliable vehicle. * Valid driver's license.
