Education:
* BEng Mechanical Engineering
Job Experience & Skills Required:
* Minimum 5 years' experience in Building Services
* Fire protection and fire engineering design experience
* Understanding of SANS regulations and fire codes
* Ability to work on commercial, healthcare and industrial projects
Duties:
* Design fire detection, alarm, sprinkler and hydrant systems for buildings.
* Develop fire engineering reports and compliance documentation.
* Conduct hydraulic calculations for fire protection systems.
* Coordinate fire system layouts with mechanical, electrical and architectural disciplines.
* Perform site inspections and monitor installation quality during construction phases.
* Review building plans and identify fire life safety risks.
* Assist with authority submissions and approval processes.
* Develop smoke ventilation and evacuation strategies for complex facilities.
* Ensure compliance with local regulations and international best practices.
* Support clients with fire risk assessments and safety improvement initiatives.
