Job Summary
Our client, a well-established and reputable motor dealership in Northcliff, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Diagnostic Technician to join their workshop team. The successful candidate will be responsible for advanced fault-finding, diagnostics and mentoring junior technicians while ensuring work is completed to manufacturer standards.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
• Perform advanced vehicle diagnostics and fault-finding using diagnostic equipment
• Accurately identify mechanical and electronic faults
• Carry out complex repairs in line with manufacturer specifications
• Interpret wiring diagrams and technical manuals
• Assist and guide junior technicians with technical support
• Ensure all work meets dealership and manufacturer quality standards
• Complete job cards accurately and within allocated time frames
• Conduct final quality checks on completed repairs
• Liaise with service advisors regarding technical explanations when required
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment
Minimum Requirements:
• Red Seal Trade Test (Motor Mechanic) – Essential
• Proven experience as a Diagnostic / Senior Technician within a motor dealership
• Strong knowledge of vehicle electronics and diagnostic systems
• Experience working with OEM diagnostic tools
• Valid driver’s licence
• Clear criminal record
• Stable work history
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• High attention to detail
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Strong communication skills
• Team player with leadership ability
• Must reside in Northcliff or surrounding areas (no relocation)
