Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Maintenance Manager to lead all maintenance activities within our sinter plant. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring optimal equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and driving continuous improvement in maintenance practices. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a proactive approach to safety and operational excellence.
Education & Professional Qualifications (Minimum)
* Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
* Government Certificate of Competency (GCC Factories)
* Formal maintenance management training (e.g. asset management, reliability, or maintenance planning fundamentals)
Experience (Minimum)
* 5-8 years maintenance experience in a heavy industrial environment
* At least 2 years in a maintenance leadership/management role
* Proven experience in:
+ Continuous process plants (sinter, coke, blast furnace, power, cement, mining, etc.)
+ Managing large rotating and static equipment
+ Shutdown/major maintenance planning and execution
Technical Competence (Must Have)
* Strong working knowledge of:
+ Sinter plant equipment (mixers, strand, ignition furnace, wind boxes, ESPs, fans, conveyors, screens)
+ Mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation maintenance principles
* Maintenance strategies:
+ Preventive & predictive maintenance
+ Breakdown and root cause failure analysis (RCFA)
* Ability to interpret:
+ Engineering drawings
+ OEM manuals
+ Maintenance standards and procedures
Safety, Risk & Compliance (Non‑Negotiable)
* Demonstrated leadership in safety-critical environments
* Solid understanding of:
+ Legal compliance (OHS, plant regulations)
+ Permit-to-work systems
+ Risk assessments and HAZOPs
* Track record of incident reduction and safe execution of maintenance work
Management & Leadership Skills (Minimum)
* Proven ability to:
+ Lead multidisciplinary teams (artisans, planners, contractors)
+ Manage maintenance budgets and cost control
+ Set priorities under production pressure
* Experience with:
+ Contractor management
+ Workforce planning and skills development
+ Performance management
