Job Summary
Key Responsibilities
* Capture and maintain accurate accounting records
* Perform monthly reconciliations (bank, creditors, debtors)
* Assist in the preparation of financial statements
* Prepare and submit tax returns (Individuals, Companies, and Trusts)
* Ensure compliance with SARS regulations and deadlines
* Administer Trust accounts, including:
+ Trust financial statements
+ Beneficiary allocations and distributions
+ Trust tax compliance and submissions
* Liaise with clients and provide professional support
* Assist with audits and year-end processes
* Maintain proper filing systems and supporting documentation
Minimum Requirements
* Relevant Accounting qualification (Diploma or Degree)
* Registered Tax Practitioner (essential)
* 1–2 years’ experience in an accounting firm or similar environment
* Proven experience with Trusts (essential)
* Strong understanding of tax compliance and SARS processes
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
Key Competencies
* High attention to detail and accuracy
* Strong organisational and time management skills
* Ability to meet deadlines in a pressurised environment
* Good communication and client-facing skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Advantageous
* Experience with software such as Sage, Xero, CaseWare or Pastel
* Familiarity with SARS eFiling and CIPC submissions
