Minimum Requirements
- A Masters degree in Applied or Mathematical Statistics
- At least 3 years lecturing experience
Additional Recommendation
- Evidence of publication in international and national peer reviewed journals
- A broad understanding of current research developments and teaching trends within the discipline
- Knowledge and experience of various statistical software packages such as SPSS, SAS, R
- Evidence of engagement in continuous academic development
- Evidence of involvement in community engagement projects
- Teaching and Learning.
Summary of Duties
- Management of all matters relating to learning, teaching, and assessment.
- Assist in curriculum development
- Assist in the development of industry specific non-subsidised short courses
- The ability to initiate various research projects and aid in the growth of research output of the
- department
- To demonstrate effective communication skills, strong leadership abilities and excellent management
- and administrative skills
- Collaborate and engage with other Universities and key stakeholders in industry.
- Experience in e-Learning
- Perform other duties as determined by the Head of Department
- The incumbent will be primarily based at the DUT Riverside Campus but may be required, from time to time, to undertake lecturing duties at the DUT Indumiso Campus and travel to other DUT Durban campuses in support of operational requirements.
