PRIMARY PURPOSE
Responsible for managing and improving current relationships, implementing, and coordinating strategies to improve sales performance for PPB in efforts to achieve the financial sales targets. Furthermore, the position is also responsible for the export business to southern African countries (Zambia, Lesotho, eSwatini, Zimbabwe).
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Retention, maintenance and expansion of current and future customer base
- Customise Namib Mills South Africa product offerings to meet the Customer’s requirements.
- Maintain budgets and optimize expenses by managing budgets for Sales growth "
- Effectively manage customer perceptions. Maintain and improve customer relationships.
- Discuss reviews with customers and implement Sales strategies for continued growth for NMSA and our
customers
- Ensure that products get maximum exposure with regards to shelf allocations and facings.
- Continuously secure a constant and reliable revenue stream.
- Improving internal processes for better productivity
- Analyse market trends and negotiating pricing with strategic customers.
- Ensure that Namib Mills products get maximum exposure through promotional activities.
- Effectively train and motivate Merchandisers under control to ensure the Namib Mills gets
maximum exposure.
2. Achieve growth objectives as per the Business Strategy
- Identifying of products and prepare activities around sales and buy-in periods.
- Ensure stock availability by timeously liaising with relevant parties.
- Ensure good communication by informing merchandisers of all promotions.
- Ensure that all deliveries are done timeously by co-ordinating logistical arrangements.
3. Visiting of customers, includes National travel (extensively)
- Ensure that all quality issues are addressed timeously.
- Communicate deviations timeously.
- Enhance knowledge on competitors and communicate timeously.
- Identify quality and other issues pro-actively via inspections and communicate concerns timeously.
- Undertake field trips nationwide to build customer loyalty and rectify issues.
4. Administration
- Ensure updated pricelists, customer information and sales briefs.
- Ensure that all relevant information is communicated at sales meetings.
- Ensure that issues are identified timeously and brought under the attention of Management by submitting
accurate reports timeously.
5. Analytical reviews and support
- Annalise market trends, opposition strategies.
- Liaise, support and transfer analytic expertise to the sales and marketing department as needed.
- Evaluating retail and business opportunities.
