Position : Accountant Work Hours (Client) : Ability to overlap with EST  Pay Range : $1500 - $2500 USD/month (varies based on skill set and experience level) Location of Search : Uruguay or South Africa Work Location : REMOTE Type of Contract : Independent Contractor Company/Client Overview: We are a US-based family office seeking a Senior Accountant based in Montevideo, Uruguay to support the accounting and administrative operations of the family office. This is a foundational hire that will grow with the organization, reporting to a US-based Controller in Pittsburgh, PA  - USA. Duties and Responsibilities: * Personal and household bill pay across multiple properties and accounts * Accounts payable — vendor setup, invoice processing, payment approvals, and recordkeeping * Bank reconciliations across multiple personal and entity accounts * Bookkeeping for multiple holding entities and personal accounts * Cash flow tracking and reporting * Document management and financial recordkeeping * Coordination with US-based Controller on reporting and workflow * Support annual tax prep by organizing financial records for US CPAs Minimum Requirements: Language requirement: Excellent English Communication Skills Education: Bachelor's Degree (ideally) Experience: 5-10+ years of related experience  * 5–10 years of accounting experience * Bilingual English/Spanish — strong written and spoken English required * Experience with US-based clients or a US/multinational employer strongly preferred * Proficiency in QuickBooks or similar; familiarity with Bill.com a plus * High attention to detail, discretion, and reliability * Able to work independently without close day-to-day supervision * Contador Público or equivalent credential preferred * Ideal candidates have Big 4 or mid-tier firm experience in Uruguay (KPMG, Deloitte, PwC, EY) serving international clients, or have previously supported a family office, private equity back office, or similar operation.
