Job description
Role: Financial Analyst
Priority Location: Latin America & South Africa
Working Hours: 9am - 5pm (Mon - Fri) EST
Salary Range:
$1,600 - $3,000 USD per month
(The final offer is at the client’s discretion and depends on the candidate’s interview result, skills, and experience.)
Type of contract: Independent Contractor
Type of job: Remote
About the Company:
The company is a New York City private equity firm founded in 2010, focused on buyout and growth-stage investments. The firm partners alongside owners and management teams and invests for the long term, with 27+ investments to date. Partnership, integrity and efficiency sit at the center of how the team works.
About the Role:
The company is hiring a full-time Financial Analyst to support its investment team with deal screening, financial analysis and pipeline management. You will review Confidential Information Memorandums (CIMs), write clear summaries of each opportunity, and keep deal and contact data accurate in Salesforce. The role works mostly with the internal team, with some contact with external partners, so polished written and spoken English matters.
Key Responsibilities:
* CIM write-ups: Read incoming CIMs and teasers and write concise summaries covering the business, financials, growth drivers, risks and fit with the company’s buyout and growth criteria.
* Salesforce data entry: Log new deals, contacts, intermediaries and deal stages in Salesforce, and keep records current and clean as opportunities move through the pipeline.
* Financial analysis: Spread historical financials, build and update basic models, and run comparable company and transaction analyses.
* Deal screening support: Track inbound deal flow, flag opportunities that match the investment criteria, and prepare materials for internal review.
* Research: Pull industry, market and company data to support investment memos and diligence.
* Reporting: Prepare pipeline summaries and ad hoc analysis for the deal team, plus occasional portfolio company reporting.
* Communication: Coordinate with internal team members and, at times, external partners such as bankers and brokers.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
* Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics or a related field
* 2–3 years of experience as a financial analyst, in investment banking, private equity, corporate finance, transaction advisory or similar
* Strong Excel skills, including financial statement analysis and basic modeling
* Clear, structured business writing; able to turn a long CIM into a tight one- to two-page summary
* Excellent spoken English that is clear and easily understood by a US-based team and external partners
* Comfortable with CRM data entry and disciplined about data accuracy
* Based in South Africa or Latin America, with reliable internet and a quiet home workspace
* Available full-time, with working hours that overlap the US Eastern time zone
Nice-to-Have:
* Hands-on Salesforce experience, ideally tracking a deal pipeline
* Prior exposure to private equity, M&A or lower middle market deals
* Progress toward CFA, CA(SA) or a similar credential
* Experience working remotely with US-based teams
