Job description
Key Responsibilities
* Manage the integrity of the general ledger and month-end close process.
* Reconcile bank accounts, payment platforms and inventory systems.
* Ensure accurate inventory and cost of sales accounting.
* Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
* Manage debtor and creditor reconciliations.
* Support cash flow management and supplier payment planning.
* Ensure VAT and statutory compliance.
* Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies.
* Strengthen financial processes and internal controls.
* Deliver meaningful financial reporting and commercial insights.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants should possess:
* Relevant Accounting qualification (BCom Accounting, National Diploma or equivalent).
* Completed SAICA or SAIPA Articles (or equivalent practical experience).
* Minimum 10 years' accounting experience.
* Minimum 5 years' experience in a Senior Accountant or Financial Accountant role.
* Strong practical working knowledge of Xero.
* Experience with Cin7 or a similar inventory management system.
* Experience reconciling payment platforms such as Yoco, PayFast, Peach Payments or similar.
* Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP and SUMIFS.
* Sound knowledge of South African VAT and statutory accounting requirements.
* Experience within a retail, wholesale, e-commerce or inventory-driven environment is essential.
