Chief Financial Officer (Family Office & Portfolio Holding) Position: Chief Financial Officer (Fractional / Full-Time) Department: Executive Finance & Treasury Type: Full-Time Remote Contractor (40 hours/week) Schedule: US Central Standard Time (CST) Alignment | Texas Hours Position Overview We are seeking an assertive, highly strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to take complete ownership of financial leadership across our core operating companies. Working as a trusted executive partner to the Founder, you will oversee cash controls, build rolling financial trend projections, consolidate disparate accounting streams (in-house bookkeepers, third-party builder accounting, and project leads), and deliver clear budget-vs-actual variance analysis. This role requires a leader with strong executive poise who can deliver thoughtful financial solutions and push back constructively when needed to ensure capital preservation and smart liquidity management. As systems normalize, you will have the authority to bring outsourced accounting functions in-house and hire your own remote finance support team. Key Responsibilities * Multi-Entity Financial Consolidation: Unify financial statements, general ledgers, and cash flows across 15+ core operating entities (construction, property management, architecture, sports capital, and ranching) into a single family office view. * Cash Controls & Strategic Advisory: Establish strict cash flow management procedures, monitor capital reserves, and advise leadership on cash availability before major acquisitions or deal executions. * FP&A, Trend Projections & Variance Analysis: Build annual budgets, rolling cash flow forecasts, and monthly variance reports. Analyze financial trends to guide investment decisions and operational tweaks. * Accounting Oversight & In-Housing: Audit external bookkeeping partners (e.g., third-party builder bookkeepers) and internal staff, streamlining processes and bringing outsourced accounting functions in-house as efficiency improves. * Capital Transactions & Investor Reporting: Support financial modeling, investor reporting, and capital structures for commercial real estate acquisitions, syndications, and private equity deals. * Cross-Functional Partnership: Partner hand-in-hand with the Chief of Staff and AI Systems Integrator to ensure real-time financial data feeds into executive dashboards. Qualifications & Requirements * Executive Experience: 8+ years of experience as a CFO, VP of Finance, or Senior Controller managing multi-entity portfolios, family offices, real estate holdings, or construction enterprises. * Financial Courage & EQ: Comfortable acting as a true executive peer who can advocate for cash discipline, challenge assumptions, and guide a visionary entrepreneur. * Real Estate & Industry Literacy: Deep understanding of job costing, construction draw schedules, property management accounting, and commercial deal structures. * Systems & Reporting Fluency: Demonstrated experience consolidating complex data streams into clean executive financial dashboards.
