Job description

Operations Responsible for operating and monitoring labelling equipment to ensure that products are correctly, consistently and efficiently labelled before they are packed or dispatched. Job Purpose The purpose of the Labeller Operator is to ensure machine settings and operations are correct, or adjusted, to ensure that a perfectly labelled container is produced in line with product specifications; while managing waste streams, and machine availability. Key Accountabilities and Outputs Operating of processes * Operate the labeller * Make sure that the right labels are on the Product * Make sure that the label height is right * Make sure that the overlapping of the label is right * Make sure that the label is straight * Make sure that the date coder is on and running correctly and printing clearly. Check every 15 minutes * Check that the date coders settings is correct * Organize with your Team Leader for enough labels. Inform him timeously of possible shortages * Inform Team leader of any problems with labels immediately * Keep your labeller clean.  Clean regular while the line is waiting for another machine. * Clean the labeller drum and sensors at least every 2 hours * Inspect the conveyors from the filler to the labeller and from labeller to variopack regularly * Inspect bottle and label every half hour for: * Pearlescence * Solid base with small center * Straight neck * The label is straight * Date coder on and printing * Do maintenance of labeller as per instruction of the maintenance manager on maintenance day * Receive your area in a clean, running condition * Hand your area over in a clean, running condition * Report any faults or problems ASAP * VarioPack Operator to cover for Labeller Operator during lunch and vice versa First-level Maintenance and Equipment Care * Conduct routine equipment inspections before startup and during operation * Clean, inspect and lubricate equipment in accordance with the approved maintenance schedule. * Identify abnormal noise, vibration, temperature, leakage, damage or equipment performance. * Perform minor adjustments and basic first-level maintenance tasks within the employee’s training and authorisation. * Report and escalate equipment defects or breakdowns promptly. * Assist the Technical team during planned maintenance, where required. * Complete the relevant inspection and maintenance records. Cleaning in process * Machine process specific Fault Diagnosis and Repair, Root Cause Analysis (5Y) Completion * Breakdown management * Time to detect, time to correct Housekeeping * General cleaning standards obtained and sustained Health, Safety, Quality & FSSC 22000 * Safe working environment * Healthy work environment * Completion on QMS documents * Adhere to all Food Safety Standards and report on all issues regards to the Food Safety Management System to the Food Safety Team Qualification and Experience * Grade 12 * 1 years' experience in working with labelling equipment * 1 years' experience in beverage industry Key Qualities & Behavioural Competencies * Technical Skills * Fault finding skills (low level) * Initiative and Taking Ownership: Takes on responsibility and accountability for tasks and actions * Decision making and judgement: Make timely, informed decisions that consider the facts, goals, contstraints and risks. * Analysis and Planning: The ability to take in arrange of information, think things through logically and plan. * Enable Results through others: The ability to understand people and their motivations, build good relationships with them and achieve results through the efforts of others as well as your own.
