Maintenance and Repair * Inspect and troubleshoot existing piping systems for leaks, corrosion or wear. * Perform repairs by cutting, welding or replacing damaged pipe sections. Safety Compliance * Adhere to strict safety protocols to prevent chemical exposure, explosions and other hazards. * Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and follow industry standards for working in high-risk environments. Testing and Inspection * Ensure all piping systems meet regulatory and quality standards. Material Handling and Preparation * Select appropriate pipe materials based on the type of chemicals or gases being transported (e.g. carbon steel, stainless steel, PVC). * Measure, cut, thread and bend pipes to required dimensions. System Layout and Assembly * Plan pipe routes to minimise obstructions and maintain efficient flow. * Assemble pipe supports, valves and flanges to ensure stability and functionality. Coordination and Communication * Work closely with engineers, project managers, and other trades (e.g. welders, electricians) to ensure project timelines and specifications are met. * Communicate any design or material issues promptly to supervisors.
