Job description
Key Responsibilities
* Manage monthly accounting and financial processing across four entities.
* Complete month-end procedures, journals, accruals and provisions.
* Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations.
* Prepare monthly trial balances, income statements, balance sheets and management accounts.
* Analyse financial performance, variances and trends.
* Manage intercompany accounts, fixed assets and depreciation.
* Prepare and submit VAT returns, EMP501 reconciliations and other SARS requirements.
* Manage SARS queries and statutory compliance.
* Oversee monthly and weekly payroll processes.
* Supervise creditors, debtors and finance administration.
* Monitor cash flow, banking and payment requirements.
* Manage foreign currency transactions, international supplier payments and forex exposure.
* Coordinate annual audits and prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation.
* Maintain and improve financial controls and accounting processes.
* Manage, mentor and support finance and payroll staff.
* Coordinate B-BBEE, Employment Equity and other statutory reporting requirements.
Minimum Requirements
* Relevant BCom Accounting / Financial Accounting degree or equivalent.
* Minimum 5 years’ relevant accounting experience, preferably at Senior Accountant / Financial Accountant level.
* Strong full accounting function experience.
* Strong month-end and management accounts experience.
* Experience with VAT, PAYE, EMP501 and SARS compliance.
* Payroll oversight experience.
* Experience managing or supervising a finance team.
* Annual audit preparation and auditor liaison experience.
* Pastel Accounting experience essential.
* Strong Microsoft Excel skills essential.
* Manufacturing experience highly advantageous.
* Inventory / manufacturing accounting experience highly advantageous.
* Foreign currency and international supplier experience advantageous.
* SAICA / SAIPA articles advantageous.
* B-BBEE and Employment Equity reporting exposure advantageous.
