Job Title:  Accounting & Finance Lead  Working Hours: M-F PST Salary: 2000-3000 USD/month About the company and role: A growing licensed apparel company with multiple revenue streams including Shopify eCommerce, bulk custom orders, and multi-state sales tax compliance. We seek a detail-oriented, proactive Finance & Accounting Lead to own our bookkeeping, accounting operations, compliance, and reporting. This role combines bookkeeping execution with accounting ownership. You will be the backbone of our financial record accuracy, cash integrity, and reporting cadence. Core Responsibilities Bookkeeping & Accounting Operations * Enter, code, and reconcile vendor bills, production costs, and expenses * Monitor and maintain accurate AP and AR processes * Reconcile payments from Shopify, QuickBooks, ACH, credit cards weekly * Produce weekly AR aging and manage collections cadence * Reconcile bank and credit card accounts * Ensure QuickBooks Online records are accurate and audit-ready Sales Tax & Compliance * Prepare monthly/quarterly multi-state U.S. sales tax returns via Avalara * Track Nexus thresholds and compliance requirements * Coordinate with U.S. advisors as needed for sales tax updates * Maintain compliance with U.S. GAAP Royalty Reporting * Prepare quarterly royalty reports tied to gross sales * Ensure correct calculations and timely payment processing to partners Financial Reporting * Produce monthly financials: + Profit & Loss (P&L) + Balance Sheet + Cash Flow Summary + Key AR/AP metrics * Provide insights or flags to CEO on trends or anomalies Support & Collaboration * Support CEO with cash planning and vendor payment strategy * Prepare documentation for auditors, legal, or tax advisors when requested * Improve internal processes for financial accuracy Qualifications & Skills ✔ 5+ years of accounting/bookkeeping experience ✔ Deep knowledge of QuickBooks Online (required) ✔ Experience with U.S. multi-state sales tax filings (required) ✔ Strong understanding of accrual accounting ✔ Experience with eCommerce financials (Shopify preferred) ✔ Excellent written and spoken English ✔ High attention to detail and ownership mindset
