Ivanplats Artisan Learnership Programme 2026
Ivanplats is offering artisan learnership opportunities as part of the development of its Platreef mining project in Limpopo.
The programme will provide candidates with structured training towards recognised trade qualifications relevant to technical roles required by the mine.
Successful candidates may participate in the programme for a maximum period of:
3 years
or until they obtain the relevant trade qualification, whichever happens first.
Available Artisan Learnerships
The programme covers the following trades:
* Boilermaker
* Diesel Mechanic
* Fitter and Turner
* Instrumentation
* Mechanical Fitter
* Millwright
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
Grade 12 / Matric
with:
Mathematics – minimum 60%
and
Physical Science – minimum 60%
Applicants must also have an:
N2 qualification in Engineering Studies
and at least:
2 years’ working experience as an Artisan Assistant
Additional Programme Requirements
Candidates must be prepared to work both underground and on surface as required by the mining operation.
Applicants must also:
* Pass the relevant medical fitness examination.
* Be willing to undergo the required capability assessments.
* Be willing to participate in mining-related workplace training.
* Meet the requirements associated with the relevant artisan trade.
Learnership Duration
Successful candidates will be enrolled in the artisan learnership programme for a maximum period of:
3 years
or until the candidate receives the applicable trade qualification, whichever occurs first.
