Utilities Technician
Trade/Artisans/Technical - Trade/Artisan/Technical Management Gauteng CONTRACT Job Summary Key Responsibilities * Maintain and troubleshoot industrial utility systems and equipment. * Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance on utility infrastructure. * Monitor and maintain compressed air, steam, water, refrigeration, HVAC and related systems. * Perform inspections to identify potential equipment failures and maintenance requirements. * Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults and implement corrective actions. * Monitor utility consumption and identify opportunities for energy and cost savings. * Assist with maintaining boilers, compressors, pumps, cooling systems and associated equipment. * Ensure utilities are available and operating reliably to support production requirements. * Conduct equipment checks and record maintenance activities accurately. * Assist with planned shutdowns, installations and commissioning of utility equipment. * Liaise with production and engineering teams to resolve utility-related issues. * Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health, safety, environmental and quality standards. * Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation. * Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving equipment reliability and plant efficiency. Minimum Requirements * N6 / National Diploma / Technical qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering will be advantageous. * Trade Tested Artisan such as Millwright, Fitter, Electrician or related trade. * Minimum 3–5 years' experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment. * Proven experience working with plant utilities and maintenance systems. * Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities. * Knowledge of preventative and planned maintenance practices. * Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals and schematics. * Computer literacy and experience using maintenance management systems will be advantageous.
