Insurance and Investments - Wealth Management Administration Centurion FULL TIME Job Summary Key Responsibilities * Design, develop, and maintain database objects, including tables, views, stored procedures, and scripts. * Provide operational support for database-related requests, reports, dashboards, and stakeholder requirements. * Monitor and maintain database availability, ensuring minimal downtime and prompt resolution of database issues. * Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency through effective validation, cleansing, and quality assurance processes. * Optimize database performance through query tuning, indexing, performance monitoring, and database maintenance activities. * Contribute to database capacity planning and future scalability initiatives. * Provide technical guidance and support to development teams on database-related matters. * Review database schemas, SQL code, pull requests, and data fixes to ensure adherence to best practices and performance standards. * Implement and maintain database security controls to protect sensitive information and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and internal policies. * Collaborate closely with developers, business stakeholders, and technical teams to support business objectives and drive continuous improvement. * Develop automation solutions to streamline repetitive database administration and support tasks. * Create and maintain technical documentation, standards, and operational procedures. * Build and enhance monitoring and alerting solutions that proactively identify risks and prevent major database outages. * Participate in strategic initiatives aimed at improving database maturity, security, governance, and compliance, including: + Encryption at Rest + Encryption in Transit + Data Lakes + POPIA Compliance + Data Dictionary Development * Participate in an after-hours standby and support rotation when required.
