Engineering - Mechanical Engineering Western Cape FULL TIME Job Summary KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: * Design and develop mechanical building services systems in accordance with project requirements and applicable standards. * Prepare mechanical engineering designs, calculations, specifications and technical reports. * Design and specify HVAC, ventilation, air-conditioning and mechanical services for buildings. * Develop equipment schedules, design drawings, specifications and tender documentation. * Perform heating and cooling load calculations and system sizing. * Select appropriate mechanical equipment and components. * Coordinate mechanical designs with architectural, electrical, structural and other building services disciplines. * Review architectural drawings and develop practical mechanical services layouts. * Prepare and review tender documentation and assist with contractor procurement. * Evaluate technical submissions, quotations and equipment selections. * Attend project meetings and coordinate technical requirements with clients, contractors and consultants. * Conduct site inspections and monitor mechanical installations during construction. * Review contractor drawings, technical submissions and installation quality. * Assist with testing, balancing, commissioning and handover of mechanical systems. * Identify and resolve technical problems during design and construction phases. * Manage engineering deliverables, project timelines and technical quality. * Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians. * Ensure designs comply with relevant SANS standards, building regulations, industry standards and client specifications. * Assist with project cost estimates, budgets and variation assessments. * Maintain accurate project documentation and engineering records.
