Group Accountant
Finance/Accounting - Other Finance/Accounting Johannesburg North FULL TIME Job Summary This isn't your typical General Accountant role. You'll join a growing pan-African rail and logistics group where finance is deeply connected to operations, strategy and growth. Working directly with experienced finance leaders, you'll gain exposure to group reporting, cross-border operations, special projects and business-critical decision-making, while building towards a future Finance Manager position. You'll be part of a lean, high-impact finance team with visibility across multiple countries, entities and currencies, gaining hands-on exposure that few newly qualified professionals get access to early in their careers. Key Responsibilities * Prepare and maintain monthly management accounts and reporting packs * Manage general ledger reconciliations and month-end processes * Perform variance analysis, budgeting and forecasting support * Oversee cash management, bank reconciliations and working capital activities * Support tax compliance, VAT submissions and audit requirements * Assist with group reporting, consolidations and IFRS reporting * Drive process improvement, automation and finance efficiency initiatives * Participate in strategic projects, business integrations and growth initiatives Job Experience and Skills Required * Newly qualified CA(SA) * Finance and accounting background is essential * Strong understanding of IFRS and financial reporting principles * Advanced Excel skills with strong analytical capabilities * Exposure to multi-entity or group finance environments advantageous * Sage or similar ERP experience beneficial * Experience within logistics, transport, manufacturing or asset-intensive industries preferred * Comfortable leveraging AI tools to support reporting and analysis * Willingness to travel and relocate to Johannesburg as the role progresses * Ambitious, commercially minded and interested in developing into a finance leadership role Ready to get off the reporting treadmill and into a role that builds future Finance Managers?
