Engineering - Mechanical Engineering Pretoria East FULL TIME Job Summary An established engineering specialist is seeking an experienced Professional Mechanical Engineer to join its technical team. The successful candidate will be responsible for engineering inspections, condition assessments, technical evaluations, engineering design, project coordination and the delivery of high-quality technical reports and recommendations. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a technically strong engineer who enjoys a combination of onsite engineering, design, investigations, project management and technical leadership. Key Responsibilities * Conduct onsite inspections and condition assessments of mechanical equipment and plant. * Consolidate inspection findings and technically evaluate observations made by team members. * Perform structural and mechanical assessments and provide engineering recommendations. * Compile detailed technical reports and present findings to clients and stakeholders. * Provide final technical review and sign-off on engineering work and reports. * Manage, coordinate and oversee engineering inspection and design projects. * Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers, technologists and inspection teams. * Execute mechanical engineering design projects and associated calculations. * Review engineering designs, drawings, calculations and manufacturing drawings. * Conduct failure investigations, root cause analyses and engineering assessments. * Apply FEA and other engineering analysis techniques where required. * Develop repair procedures and detailed Scopes of Work. * Ensure engineering activities comply with relevant standards, legislation, regulations and good engineering practice. * Compile technical and commercial proposals. * Liaise regularly with clients and provide professional engineering advice and support. * Participate in strategic planning and identify opportunities for business and technical growth. * Conduct training, masterclasses and technical seminars when required. * Mentor Engineers in Training and contribute to the development of junior technical staff. * Support quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives.
