You will be expected to identify manual finance processes, build smarter workflows, use data to identify anomalies, and improve the efficiency of financial reporting and reconciliation processes. Key Responsibilities Automation, Data & AI * Design and build automated reconciliation workflows to reduce manual review and turnaround time. * Use tools such as SQL and AI assistants to support automated assessments and workflows. * Build automated alerting systems to identify anomalies, discrepancies, and irregularities in payment, loan, and reconciliation data. * Identify recurring manual finance processes and replace them with automated, repeatable solutions. * Build and maintain dashboards or structured reporting views for real-time visibility into cost and performance trends. * Partner with Tech Ops to improve the accuracy, speed, and automation of payment and reconciliation data flows. * Champion the use of automation and AI across the finance team. Month-End & Financial Reporting * Assist with the month-end close process, including journal entries and account balance reviews. * Ensure financial information is accurate and complete before the books close. * Reconcile bank accounts and aggregator statements across multiple corridors and currencies daily. * Use data analysis and automated tools to identify discrepancies and trends. Expense Management & Business Unit Reporting * Take ownership of expense allocations across Business Units and Products. * Ensure costs are correctly attributed and provide a clear, data-backed view of spend. * Conduct first-level opex reviews and use data analysis to identify anomalies. Payments, Loans & Compliance * Assist with payment run approvals. * Manage the reconciliation of company loans and accurately capture inter-company transactions. * Support audit requirements and preparation of tax returns and supporting schedules. * Assist with VAT, PAYE, Income Tax, STATS SA, and SARB submissions. * Support the Treasury team, Tech Ops, and FX Trader with finance-related requirements.
