Engineering - Mechanical Engineering Gauteng FULL TIME Job Summary Our client is a respected leader in the design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of fire detection and suppression systems. They are seeking an experienced Fire Systems Commissioning Engineer to join their growing engineering team. This role is ideal for a technically driven professional with a strong background in commissioning complex fire detection systems across commercial, industrial, healthcare, and mission-critical facilities Key Responsibilities * Commission and test fire detection, gas suppression, and life safety systems. * Program and configure fire alarm control panels and associated field devices. * Perform integrated system testing to ensure compliance with project specifications and relevant standards. * Diagnose and resolve commissioning issues on-site. * Complete functional testing, cause-and-effect verification, and client acceptance testing. * Prepare commissioning reports, test documentation, and handover packs. * Liaise with project managers, consulting engineers, contractors, and clients throughout project execution. * Provide technical support and training to clients and service teams. * Assist with FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) and SAT (Site Acceptance Testing). * Ensure all work complies with SANS standards, manufacturer requirements, and health and safety regulations. * Support project delivery within agreed timelines and quality standards. Minimum Requirements * National Diploma, BTech, or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline. * 3–8 years' experience commissioning fire detection and life safety systems. * Strong knowledge of addressable fire detection systems. * Experience programming and commissioning leading fire alarm platforms. * Ability to interpret electrical schematics and system drawings. * Experience with cause-and-effect testing and integrated building systems. * Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills. * Excellent communication and client-facing abilities. * Valid South African driver's licence. * Willingness to travel to project sites throughout South Africa.
