Welding Quality Manager / SHEQ Manager
Engineering - Mechanical Engineering Pretoria North FULL TIME Job Summary Our client, a well-established engineering and manufacturing company, is seeking an experienced Welding Quality Manager who will also assume responsibility as the company's SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment & Quality) Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for a quality-focused professional with extensive welding inspection experience and a strong understanding of ISO standards, quality management systems, and SHEQ compliance. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring product quality, regulatory compliance, workplace safety, and continuous improvement across the business. Key Responsibilities Welding Quality Management * Develop, implement, and maintain the company's welding quality management system. * Ensure compliance with applicable welding codes and standards (ISO, ASME, AWS, EN, SANS where applicable). * Review Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), and Welder Qualification Records (WPQ). * Manage welding inspections throughout fabrication and production. * Oversee Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) activities and interpretation of inspection reports. * Investigate quality issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions. * Manage customer quality requirements and resolve quality-related concerns. * Coordinate internal and external quality audits. * Monitor quality performance metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives. SHEQ Management * Develop and maintain the company's SHEQ Management System. * Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and relevant environmental legislation. * Maintain ISO management systems, including ISO 9001 and preferably ISO 45001 and ISO 14001. * Conduct risk assessments, incident investigations, and implement corrective actions. * Drive safety awareness and promote a strong SHEQ culture throughout the organisation. * Coordinate emergency preparedness, safety committees, toolbox talks, and SHEQ training. * Maintain statutory records, permits, and compliance documentation. * Prepare for customer, supplier, and certification audits.
