Data Engineer (Analytics & Data Platform)
Administration/PA/Secretary - Datacapturing Western Cape FULL TIME Job Summary Key Responsibilities: * Design and build scalable data pipelines and ingestion processes. * Integrate data from multiple SaaS and operational platforms. * Model and transform raw data into reliable, reporting-ready business datasets. * Design and maintain Lakehouse and Warehouse structures in Microsoft Fabric. * Build clean semantic models and reporting datasets that power Power BI dashboards. * Work closely with stakeholders to define KPIs and reporting requirements. * Identify and resolve data quality, consistency, and reconciliation issues. * Drive technical and architectural decisions independently. * Monitor and optimise pipeline performance and reliability. * Contribute to best practices around data governance, modelling, and analytics architecture. Job Experience and Skills Required: * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience). * 3-5 years of hands-on experience in data engineering or analytics engineering roles. * Strong, production experience with Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse, Warehouse, Dataflows, Pipelines, semantic models). * Strong proficiency in SQL, including performance tuning and dimensional modelling. * Strong proficiency in Python for data transformation, automation, and integration work. * Solid experience with data warehousing and Lakehouse architectures. * Experience integrating data from REST APIs and SaaS platforms.
