Engineering - Mechanical Engineering Gauteng FULL TIME Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Engineer to join a leading process engineering company specialising in the design, manufacture, and delivery of modular process plants and industrial processing solutions. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated engineer to lead projects from concept through commissioning while working on complex process plants across the mining, hydrometallurgical, oil & gas, and industrial sectors. About the Role As a Mechanical Project Engineer, you will be responsible for managing the mechanical engineering aspects of capital projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, clients, suppliers, and contractors, you will play a key role in delivering innovative and practical engineering solutions for challenging industrial applications. Key Responsibilities * Manage mechanical engineering projects from concept, detailed design, procurement, fabrication, installation, commissioning, and project handover. * Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including Mechanical, Process, Electrical, Instrumentation, Automation, and Structural Engineering. * Review and approve mechanical designs, calculations, technical specifications, and engineering documentation. * Oversee the design and integration of piping systems, pressure vessels, storage tanks, rotating equipment, and mechanical plant infrastructure. * Ensure compliance with applicable engineering codes, standards, quality requirements, and safety regulations. * Manage project schedules, budgets, resources, procurement activities, and contractor performance. * Monitor project risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful project delivery. * Liaise with clients, suppliers, fabricators, and site teams throughout the project lifecycle. * Support factory acceptance testing (FAT), site acceptance testing (SAT), installation, commissioning, and performance testing. * Identify opportunities for process optimisation, cost reduction, and continuous improvement. * Prepare technical reports, project progress updates, and commercial documentation.
