Mechanical Design Engineer
Engineering - Mechanical Engineering Gauteng FULL TIME R450 000,00 - R680 000,00 (PER YEAR) Approx Monthly Salary: R37 500,00 - R56 666,00 Job Summary Key Responsibilities * Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and equipment for mining and mineral processing applications. * Produce detailed engineering drawings and 3D models using CAD software. * Perform engineering calculations, design verification, and technical analysis. * Collaborate with manufacturing, projects, and operations teams to ensure designs are practical, cost-effective, and manufacturable. * Support product improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance, reliability, and serviceability. * Conduct root-cause investigations and implement engineering solutions to operational challenges. * Participate in prototype development, testing, and product validation activities. * Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards, quality requirements, and customer specifications. * Prepare technical documentation, reports, and engineering change notices. * Engage with internal and external stakeholders throughout the design lifecycle. Minimum Requirements * BEng or BSc Degree in Mechanical Engineering. * Minimum 3 years' post-graduate mechanical design experience. * Proficiency in SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo, Siemens NX, or similar 3D CAD software. * Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and engineering fundamentals. * Exposure to manufacturing processes including machining, fabrication, welding, and assembly. * Ability to interpret and create detailed engineering drawings and technical documentation. * Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
