Automotive - Automotive Sales Uitenhage FULL TIME Job Summary Requirements: * National Diploma or Degree in Engineering. * Qualified Toolmaker. * Minimum 3-5 years’ technical / engineering experience in an automotive manufacturing environment. * Strong understanding of production systems, processes, and layouts In-depth knowledge of production processes, layouts, production systems and shop facilities. * 3 years’ experience / knowledge of a Tool Room, including tool design, tool layout, heavy press tools manufacture, patternmaking, machining, works preparation and try-out section. * Knowledge of quality and audit systems (ISO, VDA, COP, OHSE) as well as Microsoft Office, CAD / MicroStation. Responsibilities: * Provide technical support to Production to develop and establish efficient manufacturing processes. * Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, efficiency, and cost performance. * Coordinate and facilitate improvement workshops (e.g. value stream mapping, efficiency workshops). * Establish and optimise production processes, including tooling, layouts, and equipment. * Resolve production and process-related issues impacting quality or output. * Ensure process stability and readiness for production changes and new model introductions. * Manage change control relating to engineering changes (ECRs, new models, process updates). * Support costing activities for facilities, tooling, and equipment. * Conduct audits (quality, process, OHSE) and ensure compliance with standards and requirements. * Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Production, Engineering, Quality, Logistics, and Purchasing. * Develop reports, process documentation, and performance tracking tools. * Drive problem-solving initiatives and implement sustainable solutions to root causes.
