IT/Computer - Other IT/Computer Johannesburg West FULL TIME Job Summary Our client is a leading engineering company specialising in the design, manufacture, and commissioning of conveyor and bulk materials handling systems for the mining, industrial, and processing sectors. They are seeking a talented Mechatronic Engineer to join their multidisciplinary engineering team. This role offers the opportunity to work on innovative conveyor system projects from concept through to commissioning, integrating mechanical, electrical, automation, and control technologies. Key Responsibilities * Design and develop mechatronic solutions for conveyor and bulk materials handling systems. * Integrate mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and control systems into conveyor installations. * Develop control philosophies, functional specifications, and system architectures. * Assist with PLC, HMI, VSD, and sensor integration for conveyor systems. * Perform engineering calculations, equipment selection, and technical evaluations. * Prepare engineering documentation, specifications, and technical reports. * Support FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing), SAT (Site Acceptance Testing), commissioning, and system optimisation. * Conduct root cause analysis and implement engineering improvements to enhance reliability and performance. * Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, software, and project engineering teams throughout the project lifecycle. * Provide technical support to clients during installation, commissioning, and after-sales service. * Ensure compliance with relevant engineering standards, safety regulations, and client specifications. Minimum Requirements * BEng or BSc in Mechatronic Engineering. * Experience in conveyor systems, bulk materials handling, mining, or heavy industrial projects. * Experience integrating mechanical equipment with electrical and automation systems. * Understanding of PLCs, HMIs, industrial instrumentation, sensors, VSDs, and motor control. * Ability to interpret mechanical, electrical, and control drawings. * Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. * Valid South African driver's licence. * Willingness to travel to client sites for commissioning and technical support.
