Coal Boiler Operator
Engineering - Engineering Management Port Elizabeth FULL TIME Job Summary Requirements: * Matric. * Relevant trade tested qualification is required. * Some relevant experience operating coal-fired boilers / as an artisan would be advantageous. * Willingness and ability to work in a 3-shift rotation (40 hours per week). * Good communication and teamwork skills. * Must be safety-conscious and reliable. Responsibilities: * Operate and monitor coal-fired boiler equipment safely and efficiently. * Regulate boiler operations by adjusting valves, gauges, and controls. * Conduct routine inspections of boiler systems to ensure proper functionality. * Perform start-up and shut-down procedures in accordance with operational guidelines. * Maintain accurate operational logs and records. * Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards. * Report any operational faults or safety hazards immediately. * Clean and perform minor maintenance on equipment as required. * Assist with coal stock control and reporting. Shift Information: * 3-shift rotational schedule: + Morning Shift: 06:00 – 14:00 (8% shift allowance) + Afternoon Shift: 14:00 – 22:00 (12% shift allowance) + Night Shift: 22:00 – 06:00 (14% shift allowance) * 40-hour work week. * NBC prescribed hourly rate. * 15 working days annual leave per year. * 15-day annual bonus (pro-rated where applicable). * Provident Fund: + Employer contribution: 6% + Employee contribution: 5% Please be advised that if you do not receive a response within two weeks of applying, you may consider your application unsuccessful.
