Employer: Rhodes University Accounts Payable Administrator (Grade 07) Finance Division The Finance Division invites suitably qualified candidates to join their team.  Main ObjectivesThe main purpose of this position is to ensure the smooth and efficient payment of creditors/vendors on time; ensure accuracy; adherence to statutory requirements, optimizing business processes, striving for operational efficiencies. Further, to ensure identification and correction of discrepancies / errors, ensure accurate Creditor reconciliations in compliance with existing policies and procedures thereby not exposing the University to risk while preserving its’ reputation and ensuring the prompt settlement of Creditor/Vendor invoices. The RequirementsGrade 12 or equivalent (preferably with accounting as a grade 12 subject) and approximately 3 years’ relevant experience where such experience includes: - * Previous experience in a pressurised computerised administrative / accounting environment where the number of accounts is more than 1000 creditor accounts with an annual value is in excess more than R550 million * Computer literate - using Excel at an intermediate level, internet, email and Microsoft Software applications * Previous administrative experience that required the individual to pay attention to detail * Must be able to perform reconciliations and worked with creditor accounts, processing of invoices and other financial data on creditors account. The individual is expected to be highly numerate and comfortable with financial information * Experience in Accounts Payable module on an Oracle ERP or similar system Application Process It is essential that prospective candidates read the job profilefor further information and ensure that all relevant documentation is submitted.
