Job Summary
Job Description:
Reporting directly to the founder, the Head of Capital Markets & Treasury will be responsible for:
Structuring and executing all debt funding and refinancing activities across the platform
Designing optimal capital structures at both project and portfolio level
Managing lender relationships including banks, debt funds and alternative lenders
Running competitive funding processes and negotiating pricing, covenants and security structures
Preparing high-quality, credit-ready funding and investment packs
Aligning funding structures with development timelines, leasing profiles and exit strategies
Overseeing treasury, liquidity and covenant management across multiple SPVs
Implementing liquidity buffers, cash allocation strategies and debt service planning
Monitoring covenant compliance and liquidity risk on an ongoing basis
Supporting portfolio capital allocation, project sequencing and capital recycling strategies
Stress-testing funding strategies against market conditions and internal assumptions
Leading transaction execution including debt raises, refinances and facility restructures
Coordinating with legal advisors, lenders and internal stakeholders to ensure timely closings
Qualification:
Finance, Accounting, Investment or related qualification (CA(SA) or similar advantageous)
Experience:
Minimum 8 - 15+ years’ experience in investment banking, structured finance or real estate finance
Proven track record in raising and structuring debt funding
Strong experience negotiating with lenders and managing complex funding structures
Demonstrated exposure to SPV-based property and development structures
Required Skills:
Strong understanding of LTV, DSCR, ICR and return metrics (IRR)
Deep knowledge of debt structuring, amortisation and refinancing strategies
Advanced financial modelling capability with the ability to interrogate and challenge assumptions
Strong commercial judgement and decision-making ability
High ownership, accountability and resilience under pressure
Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
Ability to operate effectively in a founder-led, entrepreneurial environment
