Job Summary
About the roleThe Programmes and Content Intern will support the planning, development, and delivery of programmes and content for
the company, with a specific focus on the Companys Film Market. The role is designed to provide hands-on experience in film market programming, content development, and creative industry coordination.
Responsibilities
* Support the development and coordination of programmes for the Soweto Film Market, including workshops, pitch
* sessions, screenings, and industry discussions.
* Assist with content planning, research, and preparation aligned to programme objectives and target audiences.
* Liaise with facilitators, speakers, filmmakers, and industry stakeholders to support programme delivery.
* Support scheduling, programme documentation, and content flow across market activities.
* Contribute to the creation and management of programme-related content, including briefs, summaries, and promotional materials.
* Assist with on-the-ground programme execution during events, ensuring smooth coordination and adherence to schedules.
* Support internal teams by providing programme updates, reports, and post-event feedback documentation.
* Contribute ideas and insights that enhance programme relevance, innovation, and audience engagement.
Minimum Requirements
* South African Unemployed youth between the ages of 18 and 34.
* Must not have participated on the YES programme before.
* Matric.
* Qualification in Film, Media Studies, Communications, Marketing, Events Management, Creative Arts, or a related field.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate ideas clearly and professionally.
* Basic understanding of the film, television, or creative industries, particularly within a South African context.
* Ability to work with digital tools such as Microsoft Office or Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides) at a basic to intermediate level.
* Good organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
* Ability to conduct basic research and compile information into summaries or reports of 1–3 pages when required.
* Willingness to work collaboratively within a team and engage with external stakeholders such as facilitators, creatives, and partners.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to follow programme briefs and guidelines.
