Job Summary
About the roleDevelop practical engineering, manufacturing, and technical sales skills within a workshop environment. Support design, fabrication, and commercial activities.
Responsibilities:
* Assist with HVAC and fabrication drawings.
* Operate and learn plasma cutting machines.
* Execute job cards and support production.
* Assist with quotations and pricing.
* Attend meetings with consultant engineers.
* Support procurement and supplier coordination.
Training & Development
* Month 1: Orientation, HVAC basics, workshop exposure.
* Month 2: Practical application and coordination.
* Week 3 onwards: Pricing and quotation training.
* Months 3–6: Advanced skills and independent tasks.
Software & Tools
* AutoCAD, Revit, CAMduct.
* Plasma cutting systems (Starcam/Fastcam).
* Microsoft Excel and MS Project.
Key Competencies
* Technical aptitude.

* Teamwork and adaptability.
Working Conditions
* Workshop-based environment.
* Site visits required.
* PPE required.
Minimum Requirements
* South African Unemployed youth between the ages of 18 and 34.
* Must not have participated on the YES programme before.
* Matric.
* Business Management qualification (advantage).
* MS Office proficiency.
* Strong organisational skills.
