Job Summary
About the roleMaintain accurate stock records across all inventory systems.
Perform daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts and full stock takes. Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies, variances, and negative stock positions. Reconcile physical stock against system records and post approved adjustments.
Responsibilities:
Inbound and Outbound Stock Management
* Verify incoming deliveries against purchase orders, supplier invoices, and goods received notes.
* Ensure correct binning, labeling, and put-away of stock.
* Validate picking, packing, and dispatch quantities to reduce short-ships and over-issues.
* Monitor returns, quarantine, and damaged stock processes.
Replenishment and Forecast Support
* Monitor reorder levels, minimum/maximum thresholds, and lead times.
* Generate replenishment recommendations for fast-moving and critical items.
* Work closely with procurement and sales teams to prevent stock-outs and overstocks.
* Track aging, slow-moving, and obsolete stock and support clearance plans.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
* Inventory accuracy percentage.
* Cycle count completion rate.
* Stock variance value and frequency.
* Stock-out rate / service level.
* Obsolete and slow-moving stock ratio.
* GRN and stock posting turnaround time.
* Picking/dispatch accuracy percentage.
Minimum Requirements
* South African Unemployed youth between the ages of 18 and 34.
* Must not have participated on the YES programme before.
* Matric.
* Diploma or certificate in Supply Chain, Logistics, Inventory Management, or related field (advantageous).
* Experience in distribution, wholesale, or technical product environments (advantageous).
* Proven experience with cycle counting, reconciliations, and stock adjustment controls.
Technical Skills
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (eg. Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
* Intermediate Excel skills (lookups, pivots, data analysis).
* Strong numerical and analytical ability.
* Sound understanding of inventory control principles (FIFO/FEFO, reorder points, lead times).

Working Conditions
* Warehouse and office-based role.
* May require occasional overtime during month-end, year-end stock takes, or peak trading periods.
* Requires mobility within the warehouse and handling of stock documentation and scanning tools.
