Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Workshop Controller to oversee the quality control process in our workshop. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all work completed in the workshop meets the highest standards of quality and adheres to company procedures and guidelines. This role includes coordinating and supervising activities in the workshop, managing a team of technicians, and ensuring that all customer vehicles are repaired and maintained to the highest standard.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Supervise and manage a team of technicians to ensure work is completed efficiently and to the required standard.
2. Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure all work meets company standards and customer expectations.
3. Conduct regular inspections and checks on completed work to identify any issues or defects and rectify them promptly.
4. Manage and schedule work flow in the workshop, assigning tasks to technicians and ensuring deadlines are met.
5. Liaise with customers to discuss any repairs or maintenance required, provide quotes, and keep them informed of progress.
6. Maintain accurate records of all work completed, including invoices, work orders, and parts used.
7. Train and mentor technicians to improve their skills and ensure they adhere to quality control procedures.
8. Monitor equipment and tools in the workshop to ensure they are well-maintained and in good working condition.
9. Collaborate with the Workshop Manager to address any operational issues and implement improvements in the workshop.
Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Automotive Technology or related field preferred.
2. Minimum of 2 years experience in a technical role in the automotive industry, with at least 1 year supervisory experience.
3. Strong knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance procedures, as well as quality control standards.
4. Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
5. Strong leadership and communication skills.
6. Ability to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
7. Proficient in using computer systems and software for record-keeping and communication.
8. Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
