Starke Ayres is the foremost African specialist and global supplier of premium vegetable, flower and lawn seed varieties – both for commercial and home garden planting. The following position has become available for a Graphic Designer, based in Kempton Park.
The purpose of this position is to execute high-quality, on-brand digital design across multiple group companies, including social media, emailers and digital campaign artwork, in support of approved marketing strategies. The role also assists the Senior/Lead Designer with overflow workload to ensure timely and consistent delivery across a fast-paced, multi-brand environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Digital Graphic Design
Responsible for all digital creative execution across multiple group brands:
* Design and rollout of all social media content across multiple brands in line with approved content calendars.
* Design of emailers, digital newsletters and campaign mailers (including digital optimisation and layout consistency).
* Creation and adaptation of paid digital advertising artwork (Meta, Google, display, etc.) in multiple formats and sizes.
* Adaptation of master campaign concepts into multi-platform digital formats (social, web banners, email, internal comms).
* Ensure brand consistency and digital best practice across all digital outputs.
Multi-Brand Support & Campaign Execution
Responsible for supporting marketing managers across various business units and assisting the current designer with overflow workload:
* Assist with overflow design work from Senior/Lead Designer to ensure deadlines are met across brands
* Execute campaign creative in line with approved marketing strategies and timelines.
* Work closely with product managers and marketing teams to interpret briefs accurately and efficiently.
* Ensure fast turnaround on urgent retail and promotional artwork where required.
Digital Asset Management & Optimisation
Responsible for maintaining organised digital workflows and assets across brands:
* Maintain structured and accessible digital asset libraries per brand. Ensure correct file naming, version control and archiving protocols are followed
* Optimise artwork for platform specifications (correct sizing, compression, format).
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
Responsible for keeping digital creative modern, relevant and performance-aware:
* Proactively research and implement new digital design trends relevant to agricultural, retail and B2B markets.
* Improve efficiency through the use of templates, automation or AI-assisted tools.
