The Role:To ensure an exceptional, personalized guest experience while maintaining the highest standards of luxury hospitality, operational efficiency, and staff performance.Plays a dual role: overseeing guest experience (front-of-house) and operational management of the lodge. This role is hands-on and highly guest-focused, while still managing staff and standards.Responsibilities:· Guest Experience & Front-of-House Management· Staff Management & Leadership· Food & Beverage Oversight· Lodge Operations & Administration· Housekeeping & Maintenance Oversight· Safari & Activity Coordination· Financial & Commercial Responsibilities· Health, Safety & ComplianceKey Skills & Competencies· Strong leadership and people management skills· Exceptional guest service and attention to detail· Ability to multitask in a remote environment· Financial and operational acumen· Problem-solving and decision-making ability· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Qualifications & Experience
· Diploma/Degree in Hospitality Management or similar
· 3–5+ years’ experience in a luxury lodge or 5-star hotel
· Previous supervisory or management experience essential
· Knowledge of safari/lodge operations highly advantageous
· Wine knowledge (beneficial)
· Valid driver’s license (often required in remote lodges)
Working Conditions (Eastern Cape Lodges)
· Live-in position (remote location)
· Shift work, including weekends and public holidays
· Long hours with a hands-on operational role
· High guest interaction and expectation environment
