Position Purpose
•To provide leadership and direction to the Region /organization by articulating, leading and implementing strategic people initiatives aligned to the Transnet People Management strategy.•Ensure compliance to relevant legislation, policies and procedures.•Provide functional People Management expertise and convert business requirements into integrated people solutions, whilst providing consultative and advisory services.•Identify, monitor and manage mitigation of strategic people related risks.•Partners with business and influences Region / departmental specific strategies and business plans towards the attainment of organizational goals and targets.
Position Outputs
•Drive the development and execution of a comprehensive, integrated People Plan for the Corridor / functional department aligned to the approved organisational strategy, Transnet People Management strategy as well as identified business needs.
•Effective and efficient implementation of strategic people initiatives, policies and processes (across the People value chain) in line with business needs and towards the attainment of organisation objectives.
•Influence and lead the diversity, transformation and strategic agenda by contributing to the Corridor / departmental strategy as well as the TRIM People Strategy.
•Provide leadership, guidance and advisory service to the respective functional leaders on people related matters.
•Lead and manage a cross functional people management team by inspiring, motivating and empowering the team.
•Lead the identification, monitoring and mitigation of people related risks for the Corridor / functional department.•Drive People related governance and compliance including adherence to relevant legislation and internal controls
•Lead the development and implementation of the training and development strategy and the workplace skills plan for the Corridor / functional department.
•Identify and lead the effective implementation of organisational change management initiatives within the Corridor / functional department. Lead the implementation of programmes that are aimed at improving employee engagement, morale and productivity.
•Manage and ensure the integrity of people related data.
•Analyse and interpret human capital data (absenteeism, overtime, employee relations, etc.) to identify trends and develop interventions to address appropriately.
•Proactively support and advise line managers and employees on ER related issues to drive and sustain a motivated workforce and sound labour relations climate.
•Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders•Drive the implementation of a comprehensive and integrated talent management strategy and framework across the HC value chain, which includes workforce planning, attracting, sourcing and retention of talent, capacity building, performance management and monetary and non-monetary reward programmes.
•Ensure the implementation and utilisation of health and wellness service offerings.
•Drive the development and implementation of tailored health and wellness programmes with the Corridor / functional department based on emerging trends to drive a healthy and productive workforce.
•Ensures the implementation of a proactive People plan and programme for dealing with social challenges faced by the employees with respect to the areas of health and wellness, counselling, amenities, education and housing.
•Manage the departmental budget to ensure that costs are managed within agreed limits.
Qualifications and Experience
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND INHERENT JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• B Degree in Human Resources or equivalent related qualification
• Post-graduate qualification would be an added advantage.
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in People Management of which at least 5 years should be at a senior management level within a large organisation
• Must undergo Lifestyle Audit
