My client in Germiston is looking for a TIG Welder to join their team. The TIG Welder is responsible for welding, cutting, and brazing metal components and products using flame-cutting and hand-welding equipment. The role involves completing both small/simple and large, complex fabrications inaccordance with drawings and specifications. The Welder must work in compliance with all manufacturing, quality, and safety policies.
Minimum requirements:
+ Technical certification or diploma from a recognised technical college.
+ Minimum of 1-year relevant welding experience.
+ Competence in using measuring devices (e.g. tape measures).
+ Read and interpret manufacturing drawings and layouts to accurately fit and weldstructural components.
+ Plan work procedures by reviewing job instructions and specifications and prepare required tools and materials.
+ Fabricate and repair a variety of components and equipment using appropriate cutting and welding techniques.
+ Monitor welding and fitting processes to prevent overheating, warping, distortion, expansion, or shrinkage.
+ Prepare, assemble, align, and tack-weld parts prior to final welding.
+ Weld components for the fabrication of mild steel and aluminium products.
+ Perform first-off inspections and ongoing quality checks in line with company standards and procedures.
+ Set up and adjust welding equipment according to prescribed specifications.
+ Operate power tools and welding equipment safely and efficiently.
+ Use all required personal protective equipment (PPE) and always comply with safety regulations.
+ Change gas cylinders when required.
+ Carry out basic maintenance and minor repairs on equipment as needed.
+ Report faulty equipment, safety hazards, or defective materials to the supervisor immediately.
+ Perform any additional tasks as assigned by management.
