Your Purpose...

* To act in the role of Quantity Surveyor to deliver on all aspects of Projects for the business through being the single point of contact for all project breakdown estimates.
Your Duties and Responsibilities...
* Preparing detailed elemental estimates for refurbs & new clubs
* Assisting with the financial feasibilities for new clubs
* Reviewing construction plans and proposal packs, evaluate project requirements and prepare precise quantity assessments (Bill of Quantities), ensuring alignment with project objectives and specifications
* Manage the construction tender preparation and adjudication processes along with the formal vetting of all tenderers
* Dive into the scrutiny of material & labour costs, and confirm accuracy of quotations received from external stakeholders
* Assess JBCC contracts or similar documents to guarantee compliance and completeness
* Prepare monthly progress valuations
* Engage in ongoing tracking and reporting of actual expenditure versus budgets for various projects. Provide transparent and accurate financial updates, facilitating informed decision-making and budget adjustments as and when needed
* Implement strategies to optimize costs (cost engineering) without compromising quality
* Dedicate time to developing and maintaining successful relationships with relevant external stakeholders
* Performing on site measurements to ensure dimensional accuracy of drawings & to assist with preparations of Final Accounts
* Preparing & agreeing final accounts with Main-contractors and Sub-contractors
* Address any reasonable ad-hoc requests for information, audits, or reconciliations
* Offer assistance where needed with equipment and direct asset projects. Collaborate with relevant teams to ensure the successful implementation of projects related to organizational assets
* Allocate time to the development of templates and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) aimed at reducing overheads and improving efficiency. Streamline processes and introduce standardized documentation to enhance consistency and effectiveness in project management
* Review cost estimates and contract documentation received for accuracy and completeness, both within Virgin Active and its subsidiaries
* Provide support / guidance to other departments within the Virgin Active Group (ex-Strategic Procurement, Maintenance & Facilities) to confirm accuracy of rates or any associated contract documentation / procedures
Our Minimum Requirements...

* Bachelor of Science QS Honours
* Professionally Registered with the SACQSP as a PrQS
* At least 6 years Consultant or Development Quantity Surveying experience (Principal Agent experience is advantageous)
* Proficiency in Quantity Surveying software, specifically DimX & WinQS (minimum 4 years extensive experience)
* Extensive knowledge of the JBCC contract documentation and its full application
