Job Summary
Minimum Requirements:
* Grade 10 / Matric (preferred).
* Relevant welding certification (SAW qualification highly advantageous).
* Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in submerged arc welding.
* Experience in heavy engineering, fabrication, or manufacturing environments.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
* Strong knowledge of submerged arc welding processes.
* Attention to detail and quality workmanship.
* Good hand-eye coordination and technical skills.
* Ability to work independently and within a team.
* Problem-solving and fault-finding ability.
* Strong understanding of safety procedures
Key Responsibilities:
* Set up and operate submerged arc welding equipment.
* Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.
* Prepare materials by cleaning, cutting, and aligning components.
* Perform welding on thick steel plates, pipes, or structural components.
* Monitor welding process parameters (voltage, current, speed, flux).
* Ensure weld quality meets required standards and specifications.
* Conduct visual inspections and assist with non-destructive testing (NDT) where required.
* Maintain welding equipment and report faults or breakdowns.
* Adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
* Complete job cards, production reports, and quality documentation.
