Job Summary
The Brand Ambassador will grow wine sales beyond the estate, build strong trade relationships, and elevate brand presence across key markets. This role is ideally suited to a confident, self-motivated sales professional with a strong understanding of the wine industry and a passion for brand storytelling and relationship building.
Core Criteria:
* A relevant tertiary sales/marketing qualification
* Wine related qualifications are advantageous
* Minimum 3 years’ experience in FMCG sales, preferably within the wine industry
* At least 3 years of knowledge in the wine industry (essential)
* Valid driver’s license and own reliable vehicle (essential)
* Proven track record in achieving sales targets and growing brand presence
* Strong knowledge of the South African wine industry
* Ability to work independently and manage a territory effectively
* Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills
* Confident presenter with the ability to engage trade and customers
* Advanced computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Core Responsibilities:
* Drive and optimise wine sales outside of the estate across trade, corporate, and private clients
* Achieve set targets relating to volume, availability, and brand visibility
* Negotiate and secure wine listings within target outlets
* Maintain and grow existing trade relationships and active listings
* Represent the brand at wine shows, trade events, and tastings
* Plan and execute CRM activities to build and maintain a strong client database
* Conduct regular outlet visits aligned with best practice call cycles
* Organise and facilitate wine tastings for trade, corporate clients, and private events
* Execute brand activations across on- and off-consumption channels
* Educate and train trade staff and third-party distributors on the brand
* Identify and propose high-value events and opportunities for brand exposure
* Compile monthly reports, including sales performance and market feedback
* Work closely with distribution partners to ensure alignment and brand consistency
