Job Summary
Experience required:
* Have a sales background
* Experience as a Draughtsman
* Must have experience with SolidWorks and Sigmanest
* Matric certificate
* Experience in the steel industry
* Ability to work under pressure
* Attention to detail is required
Duties:
* Create technical management and controls
* Cost management and controls
* Drafts and sets of working drawing based on given specifications and calculations
* Maintaining drafting library
* Get new job from planning office
* Sort all jobs with operator — urgency/material/nesting
* Get new orders & quotes from planner
* Check e-mail for new orders & quotations
* Check for any problems on previous shift
Nesting 's / Quotations
* Customers to supply own drawings if so required
* If drawings are done by draughtsman, full responsibility must be taken
* If in doubt confirm with customer/manager before proceeding with order
* Confirm sizes/material and bending drawings with customers
* All drawings needs to be approved and signed by customer
* Laser cutting only proceeds with an official written order with number, all company customer detail and a 50% deposit.
* COD Customers: full Payment must be received before proceeding with orders.
* If COD account is not paid in full by the Customer and work is handed over to the customer liability will be on the Draughtsman and the outstanding amount wiII be deducted from the Draughtsman's salary
* Material availability must be checked before request for material can be placed by planner
* Check efficient cutting time/material usage
* Always quote to full sheets
* Quotation must be typed and faxed within a certain period of time. (24 hours)

Sales
* Serves customers by selling products and meeting customer needs.
* Services existing accounts, obtains orders, and new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on existing or potential sales outlets and other trade factors.
* Adjusts content of sales presentations by studying the type of sales outlet or trade factor.
* Focuses sales efforts by studying existing and potential volume of dealers
* Submits orders by referring to price lists and product literature.
* Keeps management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses.
* Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, and merchandising techniques.
* Recommends changes in service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments.
* Resolves customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, preparing reports, and making recommendations to management
* Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
* Provides historical records by maintaining records on area and customer sales.
* Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
