Job Summary
Minimum requirements for the role:
* Must have a Degree or Diploma in Agriculture, Agronomy, Agricultural Economics or a related field
* Minimum 5 years' proven experience in agriculture
* Strong technical knowledge of maize and soybean markets is essential
* Established relationships within the Mpumalanga and Free State agricultural sectors is advantageous
* Proven leadership and team management experience
* Strong commercial and financial acumen
* Must have a valid driver's license and be willing to travel extensively within the region
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
* Leading, managing, mentoring, and developing regional agents and sales representatives to achieve high performance.
* Driving and consistently delivering regional sales targets across the maize, soybean, dry bean, and pasture seed portfolios.
* Developing and expanding the commercial and retail customer base in Mpumalanga and Free State.
* Conducting regular farm visits and effectively managing key strategic accounts.
* Executing product positioning, hybrid placement strategies, and technical recommendations.
* Coordinating trial feedback, agronomic insights, and market intelligence with the Agronomy Division.
* Monitoring competitor activity, pricing strategies, and emerging market trends.
* Managing regional sales forecasting, budgeting, and stock planning to optimize availability and minimize risk.
* Supporting debtor management, credit control, and collection processes within the region.
* Organizing and executing farmer days, product demonstrations, and promotional campaigns.
* Ensuring strong brand visibility, retail execution standards, and in-store merchandising excellence.
* Compiling and submitting accurate monthly performance, sales, and market reports.
* Identifying and pursuing new growth opportunities and potential expansion areas in the region.
* Building and maintaining long-term strategic relationships with key stakeholders, cooperatives, and retailers.
